I learned at a very young age that I have dyslexia. At first, I thought this was terrible. I would ask my mom, why does it have to be so hard? My mom told me, “God gives us all blessings and faults, it is up to you to decide which this is. You can let it crush you, or you can find a way to use it as fuel to push harder.” I knew at a young age that I wanted to do something great with my life, but what does that really mean. I love to sing and model. I love being in front of a crowd. I get more nervous singing for my mom than for a crowd of over 10,000 people. I feel at home on the stage and so that is what I am fighting to do.
There’s a quote by Erica Cook that I’ve often read since being diagnosed with Dyslexia. It says, “I do not suffer from dyslexia, I live with it. I suffer from the ignorance of people who think they know what I can and cannot do.” I chose to use it as fuel. My mind may work differently than the next person but look out world…here I come! One day you will see me on the runway in Paris and New York, or maybe on the big stage singing my heart out!!!
So, for now, who am I? Well, I think all these things define me. My favorite restaurant is Taco Casa in Alabama and I love the Crimson Tide! Roll Tide Roll! I have a very strong relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I have learned to love and accept people from all walks of life! I have friendships that will last a lifetime! I am an athlete and an artist! I am a writer and a singer! I love being in front of the camera! I am a pageant girl! I am a queen! I love all types of music (but especially jazz and rock and roll)! I love volunteering and helping others! I am a Star Wars geek! I am dyslexic! I am a fighter! I don’t know where my journey is leading me, but I am so excited jump all in!
Thank you to all the people who have helped me get this far and to all the people that will help me in my future. Thank you to those who will help me learn who I am, who will help me be the best me I can be, who will lift me up! I can’t wait to meet you and I can’t wait to build an amazing future! I am Savannah Jo Stevens!

Don’t compare yourself to others because you are capable of amazing things. Step outside your comfort zone because if you don’t try, you will never know. Someday is not a day of the week so start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. It doesn’t matter how slow you go as long as you don’t stop. Great things take time, but be conscious of where you step. It is hard to take it back. You are your only limit!!!
